Exploring Inversions & Arm Balances with Joelle
Sunday 18th May // 9.30-11.30am

Build confidence to go upside down!

Inversions can be challenging, fear inducing postures for many. In this workshop we will look at how to build up strong foundations and good technique so that you can feel confident to include and explore inversions in your own practice.

We will begin with a dynamic flow to warm-up the body in preparation for some strength drills, breaking down the basics of getting comfortable upside down. We will explore a number of headstand variations, forearm balance and shoulderstand variations.

The workshop will move to deepening your understanding and practice of arm balances including Plank, Chaturanga Dandasana, Bakasana & Bhujapidasana and then to a special finishing sequence focusing on inversions including headstand (Sirsasana) and preparation for forearm balance (Pincha Mayurasana).

By breaking down the postures, you will be able to build-up your own expression of the postures as and when you feel ready.

There will be time afterwards for discussion & questions.

Like all workshops, all levels of experience are welcome.

Come with an open mind, ready to explore. There will be time for questions and the session will be tailored to suit the group.
